FWIW, I've lifted three separate cherokees with the V8 ZJ coils, all three of them got 1.5" of lift. I know one set of the coils came out of an upcountry ZJ from a friend but the other set of coils I pulled myself out of a V8 with 200k+ miles on it in the junkyard. It may have been an upcountry but didn't look like it.

Yes, I know 2 does not equal 3 but the set I pulled myself I ran in my '97 XJ until I bought real lift springs for it and put them into my wifes '99.

Here is the latest re-cap of what we have found:

Confirmed Mods:
ZJ V8 Upcountry front coils = net about 1-1.5 inch lift
S10 rear leaf packs (cut eyes off main & bolt springs to XJ main) = 3-4" lift
JK shocks = slight mod to fit 2-4" lift
WJ brake booster & master cylinder = stop faster
YJ brake lines = bolt in & 3-4" longer
ZJ shift knob = replaces XJ knob
'97+ Ford 8.8" rear (need new spring perches, shock & track bar mounts) = 4.10 gears, LSD, disc brakes
Newer Intakes (with modification)
V8 ZJ Tierods = stronger than I6
WJ Knuckles/tierods/draglink (steering upgrade....gives you crossover steering)
WJ Rotors/Calipers = biggers brakes and more stopping power
Mustang 5.0 Injectors = bolt in and have 4 holes instead of 1 for more fuel and better spray pattern
Durango steering box = beefier than XJ box
ZJ V8 alternator (some grinding required) = more power for those of us with lots of accessories
WJ LCA's (slight grinding required) = more tire clearance

*view previous posts for more details.....and feel free to ask questions

MJ leaf springs lift an XJ in the rear 4 inches (supposedly). Bolts right up too.

I have ZJ coils in the front -- about an inch of lift over stock for me. However, I am switching back to stock 6cyl cherokee springs -- the ZJ ones are too stiff. The ride is terrible, you will loose fillings. Maybe OK if you are planning a heavy bumper/winch up front...

Quick questions regarding steering wheels... from what vehicles can swap steering wheels over? My jeep has the air bag in the wheel i would like to get rid of the wheel.

I was told the Jeep uses the same spline count as GM so that leads me to believe I could use any GM steering wheel...?

Confirm or Deny please.

That's a load of doo-doo. MJ leaf packs are longer than XJ leaf packs and will not bolt up. You could possibly use an MJ main leaf as an AAL to gain some lift.

Do the 5.0 injectors add more horsepower and torque? Any specific years to look for?

OP, you should edit the first post in this thread to include all of your findings. That would make it REALLY easy for beginners on a budget.
