broken caliper bolt
last weekend I did my upper and lower ball joints, axle u-joints and the wheel hubs. while tightening the second to last bolt for the job, I snapped a caliper bolt by over torquing it. The bolt broke inside the caliper sleeve and I cannot remove the caliper due to where it broke
This is my question... Can I use a pair of pliers to pull the sleeve out of the caliper while it is on the rotor or does the caliper need to come off before the sleeve can be removed?
I'm thinking you may be able to remove the sleeve and boot. Otherwise compress the piston to get as much free play as you can, may have to remove the outer pad also and cut the broken bolt. Leave enough length to get vise grips on it to turn it out.
