brake problems

ok my problem is that yesterday i was out playing on an icy county road wipping donuts and such. i went to stop afterwards and my brake pedal went right to the floor, so i pumped it a few times and good as new. then i went on my way and whipped around again by accident. i lost my brakes again. i then went playing around a bit more to try to see if it would do it again but it wouldnt. now tonight it is doing it alot more and my pedal always goes just about to the floor. then just before i got home it started making a grinding sound that i think was coming from the front when i put on my brakes. my fluid is topped up by the way. any ideas what to check?

Maybe a bad caliper? Pull the tires and check the pads and calipers.

Time to do a THOROUGH inspection of the brake system:

1. pull all four wheels, and remove brake drums in the back
2. inspect front calipers for sticking and/or leakage
3. pull back the dust boots on the rear wheel cylinders, and inspect for leakage
4. inspect all hard lines and all flexible lines for leakage or cracking
5. replace any defective parts found above
6. inspect master cylinder for evidence of leakage. This will require the MC to be unbolted from the booster, and pulled away enough to see it's rear surface. If its wet, then a new MC is needed
7. bleed the ENTIRE system to purge all old brake fluid, even if no trouble is found in any of the steps above.

the pedal to the floor sounds like an air bubble in the line...idk why it does it randomly...i would bleed the entire system and put new fluid back in as you go.
