Brake Light stays On even when Emergancy brake is off

well
heres a short story.. tire fell off one night,
Messed up my Drum a little. (chip on Drum) on drivers side Rear.
Axle is Fine had maneuver the brakes to be able to Fit back in the Drum.
well the only thing that kinda Broke was the Springs that hold in place.
now I need to get new springy things.(dont know what they are called)
im great with doing my own work but im not good with drum breaks. :/
well i now have Squishy Breaks. and the Front Break fluid is Always Going down really Fast. so i think my Rear break might be on all the time. but the thing is i dont feel it pull or anything,
so would replacing the Springs help me out?
If not ill take it some one to repair my Brakes cause since lift is going on in less then a month i would like to stop nice and easy.
thanks

The light turns on from a switch that the actual hand brake switches, nothing to do with the actual brakes, you probably just bumped it loose. so take your center concel out and check out the switch on the hand brake. i would say replace the drum, and the springs, if you replace one drum you should do both, not to mention while your at it do the shoes too, make sure that you only do one side at a time so that you have the other as a reference. and that when you put it all back together (corectly). make sure to adjust them so that when you turn the axle the shoes are actually touching the drum, and creating some very light drag (your mostly listening for the scraping) on the drum.

So . . .
1) One side at a time, for reference.
2) CORECT!!!
3) Adjust for slight drag.
4) Throw the wheel on and your done.

Btw, if your wheels are falling off while your going down the road, this could be because your tightening the lugs on the ground. the easyest way to tighten lug nuts on the rear is to put the e-brake on, and tighten them in the air. ask me how i know.

yeah my wheel fell off dont know why really.. but the day after i got new Lug nuts and then took out my Torque wrench ans got them tight. nothing has happened *knock on wood.

and i guess i did put it back together then cause well it did have some friction when i was turning the Wheel.
So yeah.. ill replace the springs then and ill have my Brakes looked and changed (Front need to be Changed gonna get ceramic + new rotors) and ill have the Rear checked out, and maybe i can see what is making my brake Fluid drain so fast.. hmmm....

brake cylinder is less than $20 .... 2 bolts and then bleed the brakes, real easy to do . might as well do both sides since you need to bleed them. the front part of reservoir is related to the rear brakes so check the seals on the cylinders i bet they are wet. if not check brakes line real close, if you need to replace a brake line make sure you get longer ones since you will be doing a lift soon.

The brake light is fed by a switch in the handle and another switch in the proportion valve. Disconnect the one on the prop valve and if the light goes out then your problem is the hydraulics, but if the light stays on then the problem is your handle.
