Body Work Progress *PICS*
Smashed my truck up round easter. Ordered painted body panels from ebay which, while not perfect, I think worked out well enough and still cost less than my deductable. The hardware for my flare is a travesty. Being the *****clown that I am i tightened half of them on accident and basically snapped all the screws. That piece of metal that goes between the fender and the flare also came off in 2 pieces likely as a result of rust and the collision. Anyone have pics of the new bolt+washer flare cob job?
Before ![]() ![]() 1 Hour in ![]() 3 Hours in ![]() 4 Hours in ![]() I bought a complete new bumper/end caps/ fogs from TreadyLightly87 off his same year and color jeep. If it EVER GETS HERE that and the flare should complete it nicely. I was dead set on reusing my old jeep logo but for the front but I honestly really like the look of it without. While the work wasnt very difficult, the 6+ hours in the 90+ heat today has left me DEAD.

Your drivers headlight looks like it is pointing down a bit.
Good job on the repair

That's inspiring I have similar body damage to my XJ. Where did you get the grill header panel? Also where on ebay did you find already painted body panels I'd be interested in some if the seller has more. Anyways, nice work and it looks good...makes me want to fix mine soon.

Thanks guys! I got the body panels off an ebay store called Pershing AutoBody. They advertised the fenders painted if you send them your paint code so I just called em up and asked him to do me a header panel too. With shipping the fender and header both painted were a lil over 400. As far as the 4 hours, I had some help from my buddy (didnt know if hed want me posting his pic). The toughest part by far was having to straighten the mounting bracket in front of the washer resevoir. Used an old bit driver and a hammer.
This was the actual 3 hours in shot: ![]() |
