Ok, the fog light quest continues...
I'm finally getting things worked out for installing my fog lights. Went to the wrecking yard this morning and got a switch out of a wrecked Jeep, so I'm good from that end. I did some checking behind my dash as well as under my vehicle and there's no wiring at all for fog lights (I've heard that some people without foglights had wiring already in place for them OEM), so I'm looking at kits that include the whole lights/wiring/relay deal.
I've been looking at Hella 530's as they seem to be pretty good quality fog lights. However, I was at WalMart today and saw some lights by a company called Blazer. They were quite a bit cheaper than the Hellas, which would lead me to believe that they're not very high quality, however they had a pretty good heft to them (granted, that doesn't mean too much, but still they seemed to be built pretty well). Another feature that impressed me was that they had a rubber boot that went from the bottom of the foglight to the bumper to cover the mounting bracket and wiring from the elements. Most foglights that I see leave the wiring exposed to the elements which seems like a poor idea to me. So my question is: does anyone have any experience with the Blazer brand? Are they any good? Anybody know what kind of warranty they carry? Would they be on the same level as the Hellas?
Thanks in advance.

when I bought my old truck it came on it... they worked for about 2 months and then just stopped working... couldnt find any problem in the wiring or anything else... IMO I would stay away from blazer lights, I had nothing but problems with them.

I have Blazer lights on my Ford Explorer. 2 fog lights and 4 lights on a lightbar up top. I think they work good, I didnt use them on my XJ because I bought Explorer Pro Comp lights.
All you have to do is make sure you wire them through a relay. The kits dont come with a relay and the instructions tell you to wire it through the switch. DON'T DO THIS, the switches will burn out and will no longer work. Just go to the junkyard or auto store and pick some realys up.
If you are just gonna use them for simple fog-lights then its a great deal. A lot cheaper than Hella lights. And in the worst case scenario the lights will go out and you will be out the $20 dollars you paid for them. Personally I have never had the lights fail and they have been on my Explorer for about 4 1/2 years. Use them all the time.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the replies everyone - I think I'll look into them a little more. Do they have a website for the company that makes Blazer lights? Or a website describing their models/warranty/etc.? I tried searching for one, but couldn't find anything.

I'm not sure of their website offhand. But as far as the brand goes, I LOVED the Blazertech 3200's I had in my Grand Prix. They lit the road FAR better than either the stock foglights OR headlamps. I would at least give them a try on the jeep. Definitely worth it.

Before I got hit from the front, and got new Factory fog lights, I replaced my burnt out fog lights with Blazers from Wal-Mart. They worked great, and to tell the truth, they actually worked better than the ones that are currently on there. I used my factory switch, and just unhooked the wiring under the bumper (that is factory), I took out all the wiring out of the Blazers, and put the factory ones on it. The Blazers don't have the right fitting to hook up to the stock setup, but it only took me 5 minutes to do it, and I am not BY ANY STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION an electrician.
