Really like the way it looks. No rear visibility issues. Cheaper

true. Gas mileage may suck though
edit: high Center of gravity when wheeling too.

Thanks FitchVA,
Your White XJ was a major influence. By the way, could you recommend a locker set-up for a DD, weekend wheeler?

Sure, here you go:http://www.quadratec.com/products/97047_1100.htm
Beam pattern is really nice, they are fogs so the pattern is low and wide. They fill in great with the headlights. I wired my "hot pick-up through the cigarette lighter, so it is switched on/off with the key, that way I can use them as "daytime" running lights. I was thinking last night about bulb replacement, as bolted these in from behind the bumper. I will probably drill out the four tiny screw holes and run a stainless steel bolt straight through. It would be easier to service that way.

It's too clean, it needs to see some dirt

thanks! i drove my green xj around for about 2+ years as my dd'er with ARB's front and rear. invisible 100% when they're disengaged and full on bad-arse when engaged. but it might be overkill to have them front and rear depending on how much offroading you do and what type of trails.

so if you want the best (and most expensive) option for street & offroad, i would go with an ARB in the rear axle for the reason i listed above. but if money's a little tight, i would pick up an aussie locker for the rear.
