Old Man Emu's are even softer. Approx $80/shock.

Don't want to sound discouraging, but 3" of lift on stock control arms makes for a stiff ride. The angle of the control arms is what kills the ride quality. A good set of shocks and running around 28 PSI in the tires will help, but no shocks will make it ride like stock.

yea well like I said I have a few posts about the topic. I am just looking for some solid answers. I don't have the finds to throw parts at the heep. from other posts I was told to buy adjustable UCA & LCA along with LCA relocation brackets, I was told just buy new shocks or get rid of the AAL and buy full leaf packs, or buy a new lift kit.
while all the parts combined may solve the problem I am looking for what would be the best place to start cause I cannot afford all the parts at once. -Ryan |

OK, why did you start a new thread on the same subject?
You've been given all the right answers, you'll just have to try one at a time I guess if you cant afford all at once. My opinion, go ahead and start with shocks, bilstein and OME are both great.

The lower air pressure and the best shocks you can get will help, just don't expect a miracle. Lifted jeeps ride rough for the most part.

true, but lower tire psi will kill your mpg's, somewhat

Test your MPG's and see if you can tell a difference between 35 PSI and 28 PSI, I couldn't. I currently run 26 PSI and get the same mileage as I did with them at 35 PSI.

i was looking at everything i was suggested to buy to increase driving comfort it seems that although they are the cheapest the control arm relocating brackets don't apply to my application, the description from Rough Country states i need at minimum a 4.5" lift. I have 3". so should i forget about then and just get adj. control arms instead.
Also is Rough Country the only company that make the brackets ??? -Ryan |

My suggestion? Get rid of the AAL, and buy some Old Man Emu leaf springs(about $110 each), a lift shackle to level the ride, and a good set of shocks.

I meant that there aren't any shocks made that will make his lifted jeep with stock control arms ride like a stock jeep, I for sure didn't mean to say that driving without shocks would improve his ride quality.

I believe what xjfeaver is saying is forget about making it ride like a Cadillac, because you will never get your stock angles and ride height back. No shock on earth will get your Cherokee to run smooth as silk.
Your control arms are fine. You got aftermarket ones, that's better. For your height and setup the OME will probably give you the best ride. |
