been around for a long long time but finally posting here's my jeep

ive been lurking for over two years, but just recently bought a 1994 cherokee country.

i love it, but i had to fix some -=-=-=-=e right off the bat: battery was tooo big, so hood wouldn't shut right, so i bought a new battery. There was rust, thus i used por-15 on the rust, it needs new tires . I changed all fluids except the radiator, brake and transmission fluid. i will be changing the tranny filter and fluid. the damned rear hatch shox dont hold weight, the reverse lights, the rear wiper, rear defrost, all dont work. although the rear washer fluid sprayer works. The hood latch cable is broken at the handle, so all i have is a bare cable in the driver's foot well, so i can open the hood, but its a PITA so i orded some hood pins and will be installing those in. I also ordered rear hatch shocks. the window switches only work from driver's side.

Well i was wondering if you guys could help me out with some stuff too, Now i have 3" front coils on the way in the mail thanks to someone on this forum, i also have a 3" rear AAL to put in the back, a 1" tcase drop, and a rusty's steering stabilizer.

My questions:
1. How can fix my non-working rear wiper and rear defroster, i checked the wires and all looks ok, although i did completely take the panel off. What could it be?

2. Window switch problem, i checked each individual switch and cant find anything wrong, i am thinking it might be the lock button, so how can i re-wire/eliminate this thing so the windows work?

3. for the AAL there are no holes except for the centerpin hole in the Long AAL that i have, is this normal? also can i purchase u bolts at a parts store, as well as center pins? for center pins can i just go to home-depot and get some grade 8 bolts there that could be long enough??

4. i also read a long time ago about putting yj shocks on an xj, why and which ones? also Yj brake lines for extensions, will i need these for 3" lift?

1) Check the Fuses? check the voltage at the Motor? new Switches maybe?

2) Do a Search i know i've seen it covered but i dont have power Windows so im not totally sure.

3) Yea its normal to only have one hole in them, Most Parts Stores should have the U Bolts, for the Center pins find a local spring shop in your town, and go down a pickup a set (mine were $3 each bolt/nut) and that spring shop should prolly have your U Bolts also.

3) I've never read bout the YJ Shocks, and the YJ Brake lines are longer and i would recommend them so you dont risk using your brake lines and your limiting strap

And Welcome to JF and to the XJ its an Addiction
