Battery Short

This has happened twice now. First on Sunday and next was yesterday. My car decides not to start but when i open the drivers door it will start up. Has anyone had this issue or know why may be a problem?

Thanks

So you open the door, climb in, shut the door, and it: (a) doesn't crank, or (b) cranks but doesn't start? Which is it?

Then you open the door, and it... does what? Cranks and starts?

The road goes on forever, the party never ends....

Be specific, when the Jeep will not start, does the starter engage and make the starting sound and but the engeine does not run, does it make a clicking noise and no starter sound at all, or does it do nothing at all ?

.

A recent Gallup public opinion poll shows the NRA, at 58% approval, has a higher approval rating than either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.

Start with basic trouble shooting of the start and charge systems. Remove, clean, and firmly reconnect all the wires and cables to the battery, starter, and alternator. Look for corroded or damaged cables or connectors and replace as needed. Do the same for the grounding wires from the starter to engine block, and from the battery and engine to the Jeep's frame/body. You must remove, scrape, and clean until shiny, the cable/wire ends, and whatever they bolt to. Jeeps do not tolerate low voltage, bad connections, or poor grounds.

If you have an automatic transmission, the next time it won't start, Jiggle the shift lever back and forth while in Park or Neutral as you turn the ignition key.

Continue your trouble shooting by inspecting the Neutral Safety Switch (NSS). Check if for proper adjustment. Consider cleaning it or replacing it.
