You can change the bearing in the hub. But the majority of us are better off buying a new hub assembly. http://Teamcherokee.com and http://offroadoverstock.com sell them for under $100.

thanks a lot guys! like i said before, i do have access to a pretty basic home made 20 ton press and i'd rather not spend the 200 bucks. is it one or two bearings per hub and what type of job is it going to be to try and press them out?

Makes me wonder how many times you can get away with pressing new bearings in before the races are to worn to provide a tight joint.

Most recently I bought a set from NAPA with a lifetime warranty, so hopefully if I do detect a warn hub, I can just take them in and exchange them. I have a worn set that I am not using that I would be willing to try and press them out and see what happens.

I'm on my 4th set. Wish I'd known of and gotten the lifetime warranty the first time. On the other hand, I can swap hubs as quick as pit crew now .

Yeah, I noticed that later myself, but didn't edit my original post.

I meant worn hub and not Warn the aftermarket manufacturer that does make hubs that aren't unitized.

Hopefully that will clear up any confusion for anyone.
