AX-15 or.....mystery?

Recently had my t-case go on my YJ. My YJ has the 6IL BA-10 tranny and 231AMC tc-case. So looked around and found a 89 Cherokee with a blown engine for sale. Had a 5 speed manual tranny in it and was 4x4. I have done alot of research up here and read that 89 6 came with a ax-15. Great I can swap out both in my YJ and have a better tranny. Grabbed the tranny and t-case of the cherokee and yesterday I pull out my BA-10 out of my YJ. After gettin it out and examining the bellhousings something looks way different so I put up the ax-15 bellhousing to my engine and it doesn't even fit ova my clutch or flywheel. Also the bolts that I removed outta of the BA-10 are alot shorter, the 2 reverse torx hear bolts up top are way smaller in diameter, and this ax-15 seems to have a external slave (that is 93 or 94 and newer yes?). So now I'm quite stumped as in what tranny I actually have here....any clues? Or suggestions.......
