After what seems like years of waiting I installed the first Aussie for the 8.25 today.
It went in easy with no issues. It performed very well on and off road. Aussie will have it to order on www.aussielocker.com by the end of the day. Here are pics as to prove it does exist. ![]() ![]() |

Wait, an Aussie in the rear axle? Since it's my understanding that aussies engage when you apply power to the diff, isn't just going to stay engaged 99.9% of the time in a rear axle unless you coast around turns? How is this really that different a driving experience than a spool in the back? Don't get me wrong, I have an aussie in the front and I love it, but I don't understand one in the back.

Will you be selling them through Bluedogjeep?
I'd like to order one next week. Slate- Auto-lockers work fine in the rear axle. Many of us have been happily using them for many years. For driving on snowy/icy roads I prefer a rear auto-locker over one in the front. It does have some negative issues but I got used to them a long time ago.

Right now Aussies website is the only place to get them.
I will see if I can get my hands on some. If I do I will post them in the vendor section. |

I just ordered mine. I'll do my best to document the entire process and pass it along.
