Aussie Locker 8.25" 29-spline Install Its here (almost)

I just wanted everyone to know that the test for the Aussie did not go well. There is a spline engagement problem that has to be resolved. Check out the install here http://bluedogjeep.wordpress.com/

So, you think they'd send one to me if I had some aftermarket shafts to go with it?

I talked to the Aussie guys last night. They think it may only be 6-8 weeks before we can try it again. They are coming you will have a locked rear by winter.

better that the couplers have holes that are too small than too large. otherwise the entire batch would need to be completely scrapped.

Looks like a dull lock-rite to me. Why go with Aussie when you can get the PowerTrax No Slip one? It's a better design from the looks of it.

I'm guessing that people are attracted to Aussies relatively low prices?

i have a no-slip and it's super smooth and never unloads harshly except for when i drive really lazily (it's a 5spd). my only hesitation with buying the aussie would be harsh unloads. the no-slip is about 100 bucks more though... if wheelability is priority over price, i'd probably buy the aussie.

Oh wow, I didn't realize it was so much less. Well, that'd be cool to have then, maybe the competition will cause powertrax's price to drop a little. I love mine, but there really isn't much in the way of lunchbox lockers out there for the 29 8.25.

Of course, I also bought mine before they hiked the price. I think I got it brand new for around $350, which was about $75 more than I paid for the lockright.

Looks like when they are released they will be $299.

And you are right there are not many options for the 8.25" 29-spline axle.
