I ran a aussie in the front of my old TJ and will run front and rear in my new axles when I get them in. I loved it, on the road it wasnt noticable though it was the front not rear. And there very very easy to intall. The only thing about putting one in the 35 is just how weak the 35 is, if you have anything over 31's it could easly cause the axle to snap due to the added stress.

Is "aussie" slang for ARB air locker or is it something different? Who sells them?

practically the same design as a lock-right only cheaper (in most axles) and with a better warranty

I haven't seen an exploded view but from the outside it looks like a Powertrax locker. Is it the same thing?
I had a Powertrax on my '68 El Camino street/drag car. Worked pretty well but every now and then it would make a loud popping noise like it had just exploded. It was as if it got bound up and suddenly released with an explosive noise while going down the freeway. Down side is that it made for aweful handling in corners. Understeer on the throttle and oversteer off the throttle. Completely non-intuitive. |
