Any negatives about using heavier gear oil?

If I decide to use heavier gear oil (Lucas) then whats suggested in my manual, would there be any negative side effects?

Or should I just stick with whats suggested in my D30/8.25

I run 75-140 full syn w/o issues. thats actually the factory recommend weight for severe service.
