Another lift question, what to expect with 3" OME lift

Just got my 2000 XJ and I am planning a 3" OME system next spring.
What do I need to watch out for? Brake lines? Do I need a Transfer case output conversion? Lower the transfer case?
Anything else????
Plans call for a Smittybilt push/brush guard.
What size tires would fit with no cutting?
I'm not a hard core wheeler yet, just family type off road plans for now.
Hey I'm new but man I love my XJ!

With a 3" you will not really need anything else (brakelines, TC drop, anything like that) but it isnt a bad idea to get longer lines for full capabilitles.
As far as tires go, if you're running your stock wheels you'll be able to fit 31x10.5's. For full potential with absolutely no rubbing or trimming, you should try some 30x9.5" tires.
One thing to look out for with 31's is LCA rubbing, Front fender rubbing while turning, rear fender rubbing while offroading and fun stuff like that.

DefaZ covered it pretty well, but I just have to throw in my opinion about the Smittybuilt pushbar/brushguard. If you have any intent of wheeling someday, why waste your money on something that is good for looks and that is it. It is weak and will collapse causing as much if not more damage when you hit something, mounts around an already thin and weak stock bumper, and greatly reduces your approach angle. They cost around $380, so why not put that money into a decent front bumper such as BPI or Custom 4x4 for about the same price, have a front hitch and D-ring mounts, and the custom 4x4 bumper has a push bar/brushguard setup that looks almost exactly like the Smittybuilt, without the weaknesses I mentioned earlier. A stong bumper and reliable tow points are more important than a brushguard, but that is just my opinion, and if you just want it for looks, then by all means, the Smittybuilt does look nice.
