I recently got my jeep out on the road after painting it and repacing the front right inner axel bar, the bar that connects to the "U" joint and the 4wheel drive fork and collar. and noticed a few things wrong, when in 2 wheel drive the transfer case makes a very light tapping noise, only when moving. It seems like its shifted from 4wheel to 2wheel but a small mechanism its rubbing cuz it just hasnt moved quite far enough..thats my thought. When i put it in 4wheel drive it makes a wierd rubbing whine in on the right side of the axel, not in the fork and collar box but to the right of it, Im thinking that that may just need some grease...
If anyone has done any similar repairs to this area of the car and might be able to throw me some pointers, please do. I've done alot of work on this car already and now im kinda stumped. I appreciate any replies alot.
