After replacing my A/C compressor?

i just placed my AC compressor.. im assuming i need to get it hooked up to a vacuum machine or somethin?? anyone have a ballpark figure for how much mechanics usually charge for that?? is there anything else i need to do?

Call a reputable local shop. Tell them exactly what you've done, and tell them that you want them to evacuate, vacuum, and charge the A/C system. Ask them what they charge for this.

Did you replace the reciever/drier when you did the compressor? If not, how long was the system open for total?

no i did not replace those 2 things.. the system was open for about 4-5hrs because i had to wait for the compressor to be transfered to the store

It's considered a wise practice to replace the receiver/dryer when you replace the compressor.
