Adding a 2nd rear seat

A couple years ago flipping thought a catalog I found a seat that could be added in the back of the XJ behind the rear seat. I can't find one anywhere now. Anyone know who might sell one.
Also another option that I am looking at is taking My fold and tumble seat out of my CJ5. I have measured it for size and it would fit ........just kicking ideas around. There are six of us in my family and I would like the extra seating.

Has anyone added a seat? Do you have pictures?

Thanks

sounds like a good idea, at least to put small kids back there, but what about seatbelts for that extra row?

I am thinking of buying lap belts.
My youngest 2 boys would love to sit back there. I will need to decide if I should face it forward or face it backwards like the old station wagons.

If you faced it backwards you could possibly use the same seat belt anchors that it comes from the factory with if you culd find an appropriate length set of belts at the junk yard.

it would be better to face it backwards.. one its cooler for the kids (i loved it when i was a kid) and 2. it would make it so much easier for them to get in... if u have it facing forward.. it will be a PITA to get in and out imo

maybe you could fab up something where you can have the seats facing backwards and just add a cushion or something similar to the existing seat so then both front and rear facing seats use the same back part of the seat

WHat is the year and specs of your XJ? I persoanlly woud not put my kids back there if it's stock height and a 96 pr older. The older fiberglass hatches would make me nervous.

I would also want the interior removed and weld in some added gussets to handle the seat belt shoulder harness. it's just too close to the big rear quarter windows for just lap belts.

I had debated putting some rear facing seats in mine for camping/fishing trips. You know, open the hatch to block eth sun and crack open a cold one while waiting out the fish!

I doubt you could do it legally. they are certified and insured for 5 seats. (doesn't it say right on the door jam how many seatbelts? my old car did.) it also says it on my insurance papers.

you could probably get in alot of trouble if something happened.
