Access to remove/replace radio

In a '98 Cherokee, how is the center trim panel around the radio/cassette player, and the radio itself removed without damage?

I want to take out the aftermarket Alpine am/fm CD player that is in my Cherokee, and replace it with an OEM unit. Any tips or referrals to diagrams, etc, that will help me gain access to the unit?

Why change? My old fat fingers are much to large to accurately use the teeny-weeny little buttons on the Alpine, and my old eyes to weak to read the way-to-small labels!

(Anyone have a working OEM am/fm CD unit for cheap?)

Thanks, Allred

just pull it off very carefully there isnt any screws or anything then the are 2 screws holding the head unit on the top right and bottom left and then it should just pull out and hope that who ever installed it didnt just snip the wires instead of using an adapter
and sorry i have one but its the basic unit

Grab it from the bottom by the cigarette lighter and pull out gently. She'll start popping right off.

Thanks, that was simple enough that even I could do it on the first try without breaking anything.
