AC and WARM air

so my ac is blowing warm air and I thought it would be a loss of freon, but the pressure was fine. The compressor kicks on, meaning the clutch spins just as it did when the ac worked fine. However, no cold air! Any ideas on what my problem could be?

not sure what you mean by xj - but if you mean year of the jeep, its a 2001 sport

1. Are you sure the compressor is kicking on (and not just the aux fan?)

if so,

2. Turn on the A/C, and feel around the dryer/accumulator tubes in the engine compartment, they should be getting quite cold if the compressor is actually running

if so,

the problem is likely in your heater box, and most likely a stuck blend door. In other words, even though you A/C is on, the heat box is routing the air through your heater coil, not the A/C evap coil.

if not,

than you might have a blocked orifice tube...

I have two fans, should they both be spinning when the ac is on.

where might the heater box be and would it be easy to fix a stuck blend door?

Both fans will be on when the compressor is engaged. The temp. blend door is inside the evaporator housing under the dash/ glove box area. The temp. blend door is controlled by a cable (at least on the '97s). Check under the dash on the passenger side and follw the cable to the blend door lever. Make sure the lever pushes forward(full cold). The housing would have to be removed to repair the blend door.
As was stated previously, verify the compressor is running, the lines at the accumulator are cold, the electric fan is operating.
Hope this helps.
