@%&%$@!&& AC mount bolt

Broke off one off the 4 bolts holding down the AC compressor and have only a little stub sticking out of the aluminum mount. I can grip onto it with vice grips and turn it back and forth about a 1/4 turn but the aluminum/steel corrosion will not let me back it all the way out! I tried heating it with the torch, penetrating oil, etc... Any tricks to get the #***#*@((#$ out?? The mount it is stuck in is a big hunk of aluminum with the fan mount integrated in it just below where the AC compressor mounts.. 1998 XJ 6 cylinder..

they can be expensive but you can buy sockets for taking studs and thing out there really handy if you break a bolt or do a head job. you can get them from matco,snap on and napa. you already tried all the little home tricks I know.

Do you have a welder?
Yes, place a washer over the broken stub, weld the washer to the stub all around, take a bolt; like 3/8th; more then 3/4 long, weld the bolt to the stub all around. while still hot use socket to remove. if welds break do all again till it comes out.
its what i do at work to remove broken bolts.

I will see if my neighbor can weld one on.... Meanwhile, I can still clamp on with the vice grips and rotate the bolt about 90 to 180 degrees back and forth but it hangs up on some internal corrosion and will not back out.. I am husky guy also and it seems like it will snap again if I force it..

Can you spray penetrating oil from the other end of the threded hole?

other wise spray it let soak a minite, work bolt back/forth afew times,spray and repeat, dont try and force it, working the bolt with spray will help break the corrosion. it might take some time but it will come out.

It is one of the bolt holes with a closed bottom...(the bolt does not go through to the other side and expose itself) I will soak it some more and work it, hopefully it will turn out...
