Anyone ever do this? I hear a lot about cheap AAL kits, more so the idea of AAL to old sagging leafs. Anyone ever put new OEM leafs plus a $300 AAL kit? Like a 2 or 3"?

Cheap parts are cheap for a reason, but not all AAL are cheap.

Read this thread -> Add A Leaf vs a new lift kit spring pack, and other lift kit considerations.

K, well I was just considering other possibilities for my DD look I have in mind, which is basically 30's on black steels with a nice upright, level look.

OME was my first choice, but there very expensive but quality seems great.

Most full leaf packs seem to be just a AAL kit with a new leaf spring of a what ever load.

So I just figured, OEM springs( like standard duty) + AAL kit ( like 2" Rubicon) = OME (or just new spring kit) for cheaper.

I guess what I'm trying to do here is asking if there is a median between a full leaf pack and an AAL kit. Everyone I talk to tells me $850 for a 2" lift is essentially a rip off, but the other part of me says its a nice clean 01 xj with little rust and 134k miles, not your weekend toy. Something I use everyday. So why so much hate on ome?

Considering it more. I think spacers are a more viable option if I'm just looking for a non sagging, leveld look.

Or just replace leafs with OEM and call it good, no more tire rubbing when people sit in back
