99 Jeep Cherokee ignition switch locked up!

I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0 and have been having problems with the ignition key switch locking up. Key goes in but will not always turn. Is there a link to removing the ignition switch and replacing it? Thank you in advance. You guys have saved me lots of money with your advice.

The ignition switch is probably fine, and the key cylinder is the problem.

Remove the ignition cylinder and clean it with some throttle body cleaner. Use a light gun oil to lubricate it. While you have it out, check the silver ignition switch pin for breakage.

Watch the Video, Cherokee are similar -
