99 with 2 different hubs
I've read the post about the 2 different hubs and the years they changed and the differences. I have a few questions, on my XJ it says it was manufactured 03/99, so is it a 99 or 99 1/2? Also the previous owner had one of the hubs replaced and I went to change the rotors and I have 2 different hub assemblies on it so I had to get 2 different rotors(same brand just one cast and one composite). Will having 2 different hubs and 2 different rotors mess anything up or will it be fine? Also what is the proper hub I should have on my XJ?

well it really dont matter, as the hubs are matched to the rotors, i had that problem to, got the new hub installed and rotor didnt fit, i was like wth. so i figured out since mine is an early one i put the hubs for the cast rotors on it, plus the cast rotors and huibs are typically cheaper.

I have a 2/99 XJ that has cast rotors. I just installed both front hubs yesterday too. I pulled a wheel off and looked at the rotors. The square capped ones are cast and the rounded corner ones are the composite. I used the following on Google and found the best price at Amazon for 50 bux with free shipping. "513158 Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly"
Check to see if yours are composite or cast before ordering though. ![]() |
