98 xj no gauges

the other day the gauges all dropped out, they would randomly comes back on while driving and quickly go out again, next day i had no problems? read about the connections to the cluster so i pulled it all apart and looks good so plugged it back in. if it continues to do it what else can i look out for?

The instrument cluster connectors pins and pin cavities may look good but you may need a replacement connector - that was covered by a Chrysler TSB. The connector kit is available from your Chrysler dealer.

The upgraded connector has improved pin cavities that grip the cluster connector pins better.

Probably a short. Are you blowing a 15 amp fuse under the hood?
