98' Seats Sit Awfully High

Well I've got a XJ Sport 98' and being a 6'5" guy really sucks with it. There really is no vertical adjustment with the stock seats and I find myself having to slouch at some lights just to be able to see it turn green. Basically my purpose of this post is I'm curious if anyone could recommend a good seat replacement which sits lower and is overall a good buy.

My 98 also has a high seat, but my friends 97 had power seats. He could adjust the height up and down making more head/leg room. So maybe try power seats? Just an idea.

My 99 also has power seats, so I don't really have any problem with height. With the seats fully extended it almost seems like the whole vehicle is lifted...untill I realize my head is pressed into the headliner. lol

If possible, maybe you caould hit up a junk yard to track down a pwr seat.

The main problem appears to be that the center console doesnt drop straight down.. but it goes down diagonally so likely that is why the seats are set so high. Think I'm SOL

No, your not SOL, as mentioned by the other folks with 97+ Cherokees with power seats, you will get more head room, as we've all got the same center tunnel. As I recall on the test drives I took, the power seats in the late models allowed you to get the seat down significantly lower than the non-power seats. At 6'-0" tall, I was fine with the regular seats but I can imagine that it must be kind of tight for ya in there! See if you can find a late model Cherokee at a used car lot with power seats, and check it out before you invest the time & $$$ in replacing the seat....
