needs pics and basic hand holding.

I uses a sawzall and cut that thing right off. I also changed my serpentine belt configuration so you have to cut it in enough so the belt does not hit. there are pics on my thread about it.

Why wouldn't you just unbolt the fan?

if you look in the pic where I showed how I cut it .. you can see that when you change the serpentine belt configuration, you have to cut it in enough so the belt does not hit where the old fan use to be. Also gives you a little more HP

when I guess you could leave the pulley if you wanted to ... but you can use a shorter belt which is nice because the length of the belt affects the revolutions per min... which effect the charging power of your alt and power steering. Just like using an over drive pulley (like the genright one I have) lets you get more out of your power steering at idle ... you get the same results by using a smaller pulley too. Also less resistance gives you a few HP. I'm about to drop my AC and relocate my ALT and run a super short belt .. which makes a nice difference in steering at low speeds and gives you more of a charge from your alt at idle. I think its worth it ... but that's just me.

I know man I'm slacking .. School is just hitting hard and with work ... sleep .. whats that ... but its all good its not forever.

I really want to do a cage next but SFR (nick) is going to build it for me .. but my roommate beat me to the punch. But with all fairness he busts his as to pay for his jeep and its SUPER sick ..

But i need to replace my brakes and maybe will do the derango brake conversion with the xj master cylinder. and might just get some fog lights ...

I have been slow but the XJ is not close to forgotten ...
