98 cherokee jeep floor centre console manual

re earlier post regarding leak, definately anti-freeze leak, looks to be coming from a heater vent behind the centre console.looks like it could be heater matrix, any tips on where to go from here, much appreciated.
ive removed radio, bezels etc (right hand drive.)uk
is the matrix behind the dash or is that just lhd models?
ive got a manual ,

im not usually beaten, but anyone know if it possible to take the floor console out without removing the handbrake lever.

regards
dougal

If you pull up on the brake lever as much as possible (as close to vertical as you can get) you should be able to get the console off without removing the lever.
