97+ drivers window/lock switch box

I have the same problem many other people have with the window lockout switch failing. I read all the threads about it and know how to fix it by bypassing the lockout. I want to see if i can crack open the actual switch box and see if i can fix it without bypassing the lockout but cannot figure out how to open the actual switch box. I got all the screws and clips undone around the outside but it seems like something is keeping it together in the middle. Do the actual switches pop off somehow. I tried but they don't want to budge.

Any help would be great!

If I've read your question right the removal of the top switch covers can be a B***ard. Here's how I did it.

I never did figure out how the PCB would separate from the bottom plastic cover to be able to remove the switch for replacement.

Seems like a lot of work for a less than 15 minute fix.

i was trying to bypass the bypass.... and i figured out that my problem was a loose connection between the switch box and the plug... a little electronics cleaner... strategic placement of RTV... and did the trick! now i have a lockout and all the windows work!
