95 XJ in progress >>> pics
Just starting to build my 95 XJ for some fun. Its a daily driver, and gets used to tow two or three quads to the trails as well. I'm hoping to make a capable trail machine out of it while keeping it daily driveable and capable of towing the quads.
So far, I put an RE6130 kit on, but without the shackles for now. Its giving me 4.5" lift in the front and 5" lift in the rear. Also put RE drop brackets and monotube shocks on. For wheels, I went with Cragar 15x7 with 4" bs. For tires, BFG 33x10.5 mud terrains. Pulled the flares off and cut the fenders some. No SYE/driveshaft yet, and it has absolutely no vibrations. But I still plan to do it. I'll also be adding some armor, swapping in a Dana 44 rear, regearing, and other stuff soon. I've also pulled the crappy trim off the sides (not shown in my pics), and I'm thinking about painting the black part with either red or black Durabak. Here it is in stock form: Here it is w/out the drop brackets, and with the flares still intact: This is about where it stands right now: Checking tire clearance, bumpstops, shock travel, etc: On edit: Crap, I didn't realize I couldn't link to my own pics. I guess you'll just have to click.

Thanks for the comments guys.
RuffedUpXJ, I don't really know anybody that is into this stuff. I know there are some places around here, one of the popular ones is in Crozet. This is just something I've been wanting to do, I figure I'll meet people that like 'wheelin in the process ![]() This weekend if I have time I'll take it out to a trail to play around a little. Not trying to get crazy because I have a lot of things that need to be done to it first. |
