92' laredo worth $2900?

im looking at a cherokee...

I took a test drive and it drove very well, everything worked smoothly and the condition of the vehicle in and out was fairly good. Green exterior w/ tan cloth. Its got 200k on the whole vehicle but has a jasper rebuilt engine w/ about 30k on it. A little bit of rust near the bottom of the fenders and doors along with a saggy headliner. Other than that it seems to be very nice.

is it worth $2900, hopefully i can talk down a little bit.

Thanks for your knowledge and opinions.

It seems a little high, for refrence I paid $2700 for my '98 with 150K on the clock back in June, but as with all cars its worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

too high, i bought my pristine, no rust, power everything (besides fading paint) 1991 for $250 then put a rebuilt 98' longblock in it for $1500 making $1750 total.

97 xj
44 front, detroit, alloyed
60 rear, detroit, 35 spline alloyed
35" beadlocked km2's
3" midarmed
more bells and whistles than you can shake a stick at

Talking

'91 Black XJ Laredo, power everything, overhead console, minor rust on rockers, hole in muffler, 250,000km, $400
'89 blue XJ laredo, minor rust, 300,000km on body with 130,000km on motor, $500
'89 Comanche, 4.0, AW4, NP231, roll bar, power everything, $600
'87 Comanche Sportruck, 2.5, AX5, roll bar, rebuilt engine, new tires and brakes. $500
'86 Comanche 2.5, T-5, some rust, $800

$2900 for a '92 you said? Too damn high, but thats just my opinion, I've never paid any more then 800 for any jeep

i think it depends on the time of year and the region where you're buying. when it's starting to snow outside, 4x4's are worth a bit more. and regionally the price will vary. i know around here xj's demand a little higher price.

go on autotrader's site and do a search for comperable xj's and see what's selling in your area and what they're asking.

A year ago in Nov. I paid $2500 for my 92. All power & leather. It had 127K on it. I also think the area & time of year make a diff. in the pricing. A 4x4 in Ill. in Dec. will cost more than the same thing in Fl. JIM.

i paid 1700 for my 89Limited in april, with 130,000, and it had a new alternator, brakes, exhaust. Kinda rusty but still solid. Although the engine only has 30k, so i guess thats nice. I think 88xj is right, about 2k is all i would pay.

89 Cherokee Limited
Stock..for now

There are three 93-94 xj's in the paper here. No details about condition and/or millage but they are priced around $1500.

For comparison....I bought my 94' with 104,000 miles on it, no rust, and pretty much great condition all around for $2000. $2900 is too high.

oh good lord......way to high!! dude must be on crack or something. I have a 92 laredo with 145K on the clock paint is faded but other than that nothing wrong. I paid $1250 for it. I shopped around though and took my time. The local dealers around here try to sell them high like that. it is insane. shop around and don't get into a rush! I saw them alot of craigslist.org for around a 1,000 bucks for comparable to what you are looking at. check out that website......some good deals to be had

Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part

I have found that the AREA makes a huge diff in price. In Utah you pay a premium for one, back east much less, probably rust buckets. Real clean with everything working may be in the ball park.

93 5 speed over 160k
99 5 speed over 85K

99 auto over 90k
