92 Cherokee overheating problem

MY 92 Cherokee runs hot. While cruising, it is usually in between half and three quarter gauge and while idling, it is right below the red zone.

I have replaced the water pump, radiator, fan clutch and thermostat. I even put 180 deg thermostat to see if it helps but it is not helping.

Any one out there know what I need to do to bring the temperature down? I appreciate your help.

Thanks in advance.

well i have to laugh at my son.. i just read him this thread and he runs out at plugs in the E-fan and i make sure to burp the system well. then he takes it for a test ride again. this time it's running about 190 degrees...so lets hope this work now.

I had an overheating Cherokee radiator blew on me mustang been old replaced that and still overheated I took my thermostat out and runs like a champ now but burping the system is huge BC any air pockets will make almost a null space where nothing gets cooled or efficiently atleast....just run the car with cap off if u dont have a bleeder valve when it starts to spew out all the air should be gone

What is the E fan? I have a 92 cherokee, just got it, runs great, at idle it starts sneaking up the temp gauge, then I take off and it cools down fine. It never overheats while driving around and really doesn't overheat while sitting, just gets like almost unto the red. I have a fan on a clutch running off the belt that only covers half the radiator, am I missing a E fan on the other half of the radiator? It looked a little strange to me that only half the radiator has a fan.thanks

If it came from the factory with standard cooling (no a/c), then it only had one fan.

Oops then, I have factory a/c, no other fan, just clutch fan on one side. Can I install an after market fan like advance auto
sells?

!st things 1st, any recent cooling system maintenance? 2nd, I'd suggest u try finding a OE factory efan assembly.......from what's been post previously, the OE efan really moves some serious air (cfm) compared to some other aftermarket efans.
