88 XJ 4.0 cranks, idles, wont rev up

my buddy has 88 XJ 4.0 that is driving us nuts. in sept it started losing power and then finally quit running. the local jeep dealer, small repair shop, and a few shade guys have tried to fi it . shade tree guys want to move distributor. we watched vid and I'm sure we got #1 cyl at TDC. and distributor in correctly. It will crank on first turn and idles great but when you try to give it gas it spits and will not rev up. we checked and have sparks at the plugs and 30 psi at fuel rail. replaced fuel pressure reg and one bad injector. replaced crank pos sensor. don't see cel but think it because dash lights out not sure where it supposed to be cause it not same as my 98 ZJ. it has some issues with oil blowing back through breather but ran well with a/c before this. it nice non wheeled one owner jeep that he needs to get going desperately I knew this was the place that someone could help. I know jeepers are a special breed and I love mine any thoughts btw we live in Winder Ga. near Athens.

I suggest testing the Throttle Position Sensor.

.

A recent Gallup public opinion poll shows the NRA, at 58% approval, has a higher approval rating than either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.
