Lift

About 6" should do it. You are looking at a very expensive lift. Besides the lift, you will need another drive shaft (ie Tom Woods) 4.5" is more than ample,a true 32" tire will still require a shaft or lowering the tranny which voids out the reason for the lift. Clearance!, another change if you dont already have it are 4.10 gears or higher because you will spin those tires in the wet, and on dry the engine will be lugging, and never getting near the torque peak. All in all make sure the uni-body is in really good shape (heavy rust) It would be a shame to invest about 2k, and then find out the Mj is terminal. Lots of luck, take care

Do you have any fears of trimming the truck? If not, 33s will fit with 4 inches of lift, too. :-D

Comanche

This is just my beater truck so cutting is always a option!...the body is in great shape, the only thing that was shot was the tailgate. I had 31" tires from off my 04 TJ and they fir nice, so i was thinking a 3" lift would be good for 33" tires.

Lifting a MJ doesn't have to be expensive. SOA the rear using a XJ axle and add an AAL to stiffen things up. Between the SOA and 1"-2" AAL you'd get 6". Up front get 6" XJ coils, adjustable arms and trac bar. Pick up some YJ brake lines and a have the DS lengthened a little.
