85 XJ Wagoneer is teh sucks?

I just got a 1985 Wagoneer, and i wanted to know if anyone had any opinions on the reliability of these, and if this jeep can basically use the same parts as a Cherokee.
I posted on the FSJ section, and they told me that I should Post here. Any opinions, remarks, advice? Are parts easy to find, difficult?

post some pics!!! and more details of ur slab....engine? tranny? t-case? axles? let us know what ya got!

but yes for the most part XJ's (both cherokees and wagoneers) have interchangeable parts from '84-'01

however there were some different engine/tranny/t-case options only available on the earlier jeeps that you dont see in later jeeps.....your best bet for stock driveline parts will be '84-'86 XJ's and for body parts '84-'96

also, is there a shortcut around paying 300+ dollars for a lift kit? i was looking into a 3" lift in the front as well as the back.

Jeep XJ Suspension Lift

that is ur best bet for a cheap 3" lift kit....its only $250

however you can do a 2" budget boost real cheap using spacers up front and either an AAL or shackle in the back....it would be around $80-$100

or you could do ur own homebrew lift....I would pick up some cheap ($80-$100) 3" lift coils for the front, then do a bastard pack for the rear....with 3" you will need new shocks tho or you will have to re-locate your shock mounts
