85 Cherokee Chief project

Is officially dead. After three months of beating my head against the wall, and being unable to find a suitable engine for it, I decided that it was time to give it up. Since I had generated a modest bill with the local machine shop, I "paid" said bill by giving the vehicle to his one employee. The block I had ended up being cracked. Since I have several other things that I need to work on, I decided that it was time to move on.

I did remove the Safari rack, as well as the receiver hitch, so I did get something out of the project. Oh well, maybe I'll find a better XJ for building into a modest offroader later on. Untill then, I'll be back to just having the 98.

Hit your craigslist.org and find a city near you! There's usually a few XJ's on there for around $500-5000.

Thanx. I am going to wait awhile before looking for another one. The R.V. is currently developing a heart attack worthy bill at the shop. The fun never stops around here. I'm also in the middle of resurrecting my tractor so I can get it sold. Originally, I intended the money to go to paying down one of my credit cards. Oh well, the money will just be offsetting the RV bill instead.
