8 inch lift xj

im going to pick up a 95 4.0 cherokee on sunday and i was looking for lift kits and i thought id piece it together...
i found the 6.5 inch leaf spring packs with a 1.5 inch block.
then 8 inch coils for the front. i am going to do a custom front long arm
8 inch shocks
tcase drop
what do i need for driveshafts...sye? or new front driveshaft?

thanks i really appreciate all the help i can get.

Why a tcase drop with the SYE? One of the main reasons for an SYE is so you don't need a tcase drop.

why don't you do shackles instead of a 1.5" lift block? Not that the block will totally **** up everything, but that the shackle will allow for more flex.

You will definitely need longer brake lines, and an sye (not a tcase drop). I think a front dshaft will work in the rear, but the current front shaft length, may not be enough, look at a zj shaft. Definitely get a good trackbar for your 8" lift, you may want a pitman drop, as they are a needed at or around 7.5"

x2 on the shackles instead of lift blocks. Definitely loose the t-case drop. You will need longer brake lines all around.

You will need an adjustable trac-bar, one with a new drop bracket that mounts in double shear like the IRO would be best, longer brakelines front and rear, swaybar disconnects for 8" of lift, SYE and most likely a custom driveshaft for the rear, maybe even a longer front shaft, longer bumpstops, and a new steering set-up. What size tires are you trying to run that you need 8" of lift?

You will also need to address the e-brake cables. They will be pulled tight to the muffler.

well i plan on making a strict trail rig/ occasional driver.
it would be nice to run 35s but i can live with 33s

thanks for all the help...if i was to bring it down to 6.5 would i still need new driveshafts or just sye?

You can easily run 35's on 6.5" of lift. You will need the SYE and rear shaft with 6.5" of lift. If you run 33's you can get away with a 4.5" lift, and may not need the SYE just a t-case drop. If it has stock axles you will need to regear for 35's, but can make it liveable on 33's. Really for the 35's a rear axle upgrade, lower gears, upgraded steering, and better brakes would be recommended. You can do it without these but your jeep will not be fun to drive this way.
