8.8 Rear End

I have a 96 Cherokee 4wd with a ford 8.8 rear end out of a 96 ford explorer, and Sye. i went to buy the u joint for the driveshaft all they could pull up was the small ones, the one i need is longer cap to cap on one side. Does anyone know a part number for autozone, o'reilly, advance, etc... i looked on some forums but the part number they gave autzone said they couldnt find it. it doesnt have a flange it has a normal yoke but its longer ( cap to cap ) than a normal yoke. any help would be appreciated!!

Could be the 1330 joint.

You could get this http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/p996..._flange_y.html and use the stock ujoint again or this http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/c139...32_x_3_58.html and use what you have. Either way make sure you measure your bearing caps BEFORE you order and compare them to what's online.

Would you guys know of any autoparts store i can get them at, i really don't want to order it offline, i figured autozone or somewhere should have them because its off of a 96 ford explorer but the ones they pulled were totally different than what i have

Those u-joints arent going to be strong at all. Get spicer and be done with it. Posting pictures of what you have and measurements would be of great help to finding you the right size.

I tried to upload the pictures but it says the size is to big. It does say Spicer C2-26-309 on the drive shaft if that helps, i wont be able to take measurements until i pull it back off.

When you asked for a u joint did you ask for a front or rear joint for the ford?

Looks like a 1310 u joint.

we pulled u joints from the front and rear from all models of fords even the aerostar vans nothing matched up, everyone we pulled up where the same length cap to cap on all sides, mine is longer on one side than the other like a lower case t rather than a + sign if that makes sense,

Ahhh, you have an adapter joint then. Likely a 1310/1330.

You'll just have to go through every u joint box the store has IF they even have one. Take the joint to the store and match it up. There might be a part # on your joint in use.

Says 1330/1310 which is what you need, make sure you measure it at the store first. I've never seen an 8.8 with that flange on it before. Do you know what it came out of? All the ones I've seen have the flat one like at the one at your transfer case.

The explorers came with a flange yoke and not a ujoint yoke. That's some custom apparatus.
