8.25 carrier Question

I drive a 1991 jeep Cherokee limited 4.0l. Ive been told I could put my 8.25 carrier inside my dana 35 axel with the originall U-joints. Is this true? Can I use the same Axel shafts? I believe the carrier is out of a 1992 dodge Dakota 4x4. PLEASE HELP!!!

No, a carrier for a Chrysler 8.25 inch "corporate" axle will NOT fit in a Dana 35 housing. If you want to replace your carrier, the easiest/cheapest way is to get an entire axle assembly from another XJ. Be sure to match your existing ratio if your XJ has 4wd.
WANTED--MJ Comanche to restore. Must be solid, (relatively) rust free chassis. Send me a PM if you have a line on one that is for sale.
