62mm throttle body

Anyone running a 62mm bored throttle body from artsound on ebay? It's $89 for his or $230 for a BBK from Rustys. Just curious as to how well it works and whether or not theres a big difference in either. Thanks in advance!

62MM from Edge. Definitely improves throttle response.

BigD, did you get the kit with the programmer chip, or just the throttle body itself?

On the artsound TB- that's a bid of $89, buy-it-now of $125, plus the $70 core, plus 8.50 shipping... about $140 all said and done. I've been thinking about this one. $175 for a new TB... I don't see how the Edge TB could be worth 2 to 3 times as much as others, but that's just me.

I got the TB and performance module. I can't remember what I paid but it was less than the advertised price.

I also have an Volant intake, ignition and exhaust upgrades. With all of these combined, it does make a fairly significant difference.

I raced (if you can call it that in a Cherokee!) a buddy of mine who has an Impalla. The reported 0-60 times of the Impalla in most of the mags is around 7.4 seconds. On many races, I could pull him every time up to around 70mph (maybe 1/2 - 1 car).

So, based on my results, I figure my Cherokee is about a second faster 0-60mph than stock (being that most magazines show the Cherokee at around 8 seconds 0-60mph).

My opinion, the TB and module are worth the money.

i got mine from strokedjeep.com think it was $90 plus like a $70 core charge that u get back when u ship him ur old tb. out of the afe filter, 2 1/2 exhaust, tb spacer, and the bored tb the tb takes the cake. immediate throttle response and i dont know if its common but i got 1-2 mpg better as depending how hard i drove. i dont see any reason to spen $300 on a part u can get for $90. the paint the others are usin to make em shiny must be pretty damn expensive

Buy a used TB.

Have a shop mill the base just below the lowest spot of the butterfly (mark it with perm marker) to 62mm.

Done.

Are these throttle body's 62mm all the way through? or just below the butterfly valve? It seems to me that a larger TB all the way through is a better idea, I'm just not sure if one is available.

the bored throttle bodies are 62mm all the way thru. the TB is smaller from the butterfly down.

FYI, the biggest i would recommend is 62mm because the intake manifold is maxed at 62mm.

Check out Bounty Hunter on 4bangerjp.com. I have his 62mm throttlebody and spacer and could not be happier. Great price, great product, great service. And besides, its nice to support a fellow jeeper.

Yes, I believe so.

I've done both a 60 and a 62mm on my XJ. I couldn't tell a "seat of the pants" difference between the two.

Your best bet would be to have a machine shop mill one out for you. Cost me a whole $20 when I had mine done.

An air filter and a muffler knocked a full second off your 0-60?
