4WD S10 AAL Bastard Pack
I have a set of 4WD S10 springs I can use to make my bastard pack. They are 4 leaf. I already have ZJ coils and RE spacers to get about a 3.5" front lift. Any idea what lift using the main S10 leaf would get me? I guess I can just experiment but I didn't know if anyone had used 4WD S10 leafs before. All the posts I find seem to be about 2WD S10 leafs. Thanks!

I got 3.5" out of a four leaf pack
XJ main S-10 Main S-10 Second S-10 Third XJ small Bending the tabs straight up on the factory retainers will do everything you need. If you want pictures I can go out and take shots for you. I also have no Axle wrap, believe me I've tried.

Not really. There are spring rate differences though.

THREAD HIJACK!!!!
A couple pointers for doing a S-10 bastard pack with a 4 leaf pack. Start off by cutting the spring eyes off. It worked good for me, it will work good for you. ![]() After you're done grind off the main spring pin and separate the packs. ![]() Take the S-10 leaf with the spring retainer and bend the tabs straight up. I did this and used the factory s-10 spring retainers on my XJ. I used a 5/16 bolt as a top clip. I can remove as needed. ![]() Mock up your S-10 main ![]() I found mine to be too long, I cut it down to the white line. ![]() I used a long bolt to align the springs while clamping them together. I also drilled them for a 3/8 center pin. the axle doesn't need to be re-drilled. I did this twice with 3/8 hardware(went taller the second time). Its not that hard if you take your time with good bits. ![]() The only snag. the fix was to use a 1/2-20 bolt and cut the head off. a couple of washer and I was just fine. ![]() Before: ![]() After: ![]() After complete bastard pack: ![]() I haven't had any problems with sag. The after complete bastard pack shows the 31" truxus I'm running now.
