4989 Miles, 10 Days, 12 States, lots of Pics

OK, so my kid brother got married this past weekend down in Texas, my other brother and I decided that this would be a great opportunity to take a road trip, and sticking with our ways decided that there was no way that we would take the shortest route. We drove from Cleveland to Colorado and did Eagle Rock Trail with Marty from Rock Lizard Fab and a bunch of other guys, hit Pikes Peak, Roswell, NM (just drove through, wierd *** town), and Katemcy Rocks (kinda) The old Jeep performed without a glitch, and brought us home safe and in one piece. Thanks again to Bob at On & Offroad for helping me get this beast ready and for the killer deal on these new LightForce Lights, damn they work well. And also a big thanks to Marty, we had a blast man, I ower you one. Now on to the pics!

Had a great crew at Eagle's Rock, some guys were not quite up to the trail but had fun anyway


Random shots along the trail, the new lockers helped out greatly, it was fun to see some of the libby's struggle through places I walked up

Day 2 - Pikes Peak - Couldn't make it all the way to the summit because of dense snow, but got up to 13,450 ft

After there we tried a shortcut to get down to the NM border but ended up in the middle of no-where on a one lane dirt path in the high country, but went through some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen.







This patch of ice is what turned us around, there was about a 50ft drop off on the other side and as you can see it was a solid sheet of ice, that coupled with the fact that we had no idea where we were and if the "road" came out where we needed it to convinced us to try another route.



These lightforce lights are truly amazing


Day Something -Katemcy Rocks
we were supposed to meet up with a bunch of Land Cruisers but missed them somehow, so we goofed off for a couple minutes to see if they would show up, they never did but it was still fun









All in all it was a great trip with no problems, let me know what yall think

That looks like one EPIC trip to me. Nice pics, looks like an extrememly great time.

looks like a hell of a trip.

did you go anywhere else in NM other then Roswell?

Not really, I've been through quite a bit of it before, this time it was just a route to get us from a-b

That kind of trip takes balls, I would be afraid that I would break something and be screwed. I am afraid to wheel and drive far. Sweet trip.

I'm a Utahn transplanted to Ohio, so I feel your pain. Moab used to be a few hours from me, now its a few days. I'm suprised you didn't hit moab, while in the area.

Kudos, it taks a well built jeep to handle the trails and highways.
