4.88 regear in HP30... need some help w/ what is needed

First off, yes I know what I'm doing and know how to regear an axle with the dial indicator and in-lbs torque wrench for checking backlash, pinion depth, pinion pre-load, etc.

I am regearing/rebuilding this axle to put under my TJ. It's from a 97 XJ.

I have a list of all the crap I need/want to put into the housing, but it's hard as hell to find it all in one place.

For instance I've found Yukon 4.88s for the D30R from a few places(Redrock 4x4 and Randy's R&P), but I need all the seals, a master install kit, and I'd also like an extra pair of "set-up" bearings to get it right.

If anyone has regeared themselves, then where did you get all the parts from?

Also, aside from the gears, everything else is interchangeable between the HP and LP right? Install kit/carriers/seals? Just want to make sure before I order $400 worth of useless stuff.

Well I found www.completeoffroad.com and they have a very well-organized site and I found all the stuff I need there... anybody used them before? Good/bad experiences?

I ordered my 4.88's for d30 and d35. You can't beat the price, the gears and install kit are yukon brand. The package had everything i needed, so theres no complaint about completeoffroad from me

I ordered some ball joints from them and I was very pleased with service. They were on back order and personally called me to tell me that they were going to have them drop shipped from the supplier instead of having me wait until their order came in. I would recommend them.

Sort of derailing my own thread, but how have those ball joints held up? What's the brand name? I'm assuming this is for your D30? I noticed their joints are hella cheap (like $35 for an upper/lower pair!) compared to about $55-60 each at a local parts store. For the sake of my budget build they're very tempting.

Yes, for my D30. I know they are made in the USA with no other markings on the box. Someone over on naxja.org said that they were Dana Spicer. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showpost.php?p=244162777&postcount=10
