4.4L XJ?

Over the weekend I saw a white XJ, looked to be 99-00 XJ, and on the side it said 4.4L. it didn't look like a sticker..and seemed legit from the exterior. Does this exist? BTW it had plates from Mexico. Do they produce XJ's there? and if so 4.4L..whoa?!

Translation(roughly):
"Hello, Musa, i live in Mexico, and I know perfeclty well that they don't sell a Cherokee with a 4.4l engine here. The XJ you saw had a 4.4L engine? I don't know but you can be sure that this machine doesn't exist."

Fair enough Arturo?

Maybe he stroked it out to 4.4L? I never heard of a 4.4L though.
