4.2 crank in a 4.0 block???

hi tring to get some info on a swap my buddy put into my head i have a 4.0 complete motor and was thinking bout putting the the crank and connecting rods from a 4.2/258 in the 4.0 block has anyone seen this done and is it worth it in the long run as far as gains along with this swap i was goin the port n polish the heads and intake any info ill be helpful


96 xj 3.5 rustys lift, 33x10.50x15 BFG MT, t case skid plate, front tow hooks, open front and rear diff, NP-242 T-Case 1 in drop, AW4 transmission, dana 30HP, chyrsler 8.25 stock gears, K&N drop in air filter, flowmaster 40 series, poweraid throtle body spacer
