4.0L XJ Exhaust Pipe OD?

Does anyone know the exact outside diameter of a 4.0L XJ exhaust pipe, just aft of the cat?

Mine is a 1990 model.

Thanks,
David

2 1/4" all the way through. If the cat is flared, it's flared to accept 2 1/4" pipe.

I ordered a cherry bomb glass pack from Summit, in the 2 1/4" size, but it's looking like I got a 2 1/2" muffler instead! It's much bigger than the stock pipe, I'll have to adapt up to use it.

Odd that mine is 2" even. I have put 2 mufflers on mine (just recently took off the glasspack), and both been built to accept a 2" OD exhaust pipe...

Then it's been replaced or you mismeasured. 2.25" has been standard throughout the Cherokee's life.

Well I definatly didnt mismeasure (I picked up a 2 1/4" flowmaster...but had to take it back when it didnt fit ). The pipe looks just as old as everything else on my jeep but I guess it must have been replaced sometime in its REALLY early days then....still runs like a champ tho!
