My XJ is getting ****ty heat. I get good heat after it warsm up but then dies out. Heater core, Evap core, water pump all over a year and a half old. Should I do a coolant flush and call it a day?

I would try the coolant flush and then if that doesn't work try something else. Get the cheap and easy stuff out of the way! Good luck

Just fixed this problem on mine .It was that there wasn't any flow threw thew heater core think it had a air pocket stuck in the core.Ended up having to pull the heater core hoses off and get water into the heater core now I have good heat

i had no heat at all, when i cut the heater hose to put in a t-joint that was part of a cleaner kit there was a massive amount of gunk. once i flushed the whole system: heater core, radiator etc. and filled it back up with coolant i had blazing heat

The first question to ask with any heating problem is exactly what engine temp are you running at when hot? Should be in the 200-210 range. If it is, then you have to concentrate on why that heat isn't making it into the cab.
Coolant flush, new 195 thermostat from Jeep, heater core flush, new radiator cap. Basic stuff first.......
