4.0HO expansion plugs leaking

I fixed some leaks at the water pump at New Year but it carried on losing water and I kept on topping it up. I have finally found the time to look a lot closer and the plugs are a mess.

Now taking engine out to get to back of engine.

If the visible ones look that bad, you are going to want to replace the one on the back of the engine too. I just did this on replacement motor for my '98. Pretty simple. Use a flat blade screwdriver near the lip and knock it into the block. Then use a pair of pliers to pull it out. There are two on the back of the block and 1 on the back of the cylinder head. You have to pull the engine or transmission to get the one on the back of the block. Here is a thread where I replaced mine with brass. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/fre...-4-0-a-234265/

I'll be doing this over the summer at some point. Only one of mine is leaking so I'm hoping I can get away with just doing the side ones

I would like to hope the back ones are fine but it is just a question of time, they will not get any better unless replaced.

Thanks for the link dzy, just waiting parts.
